Talking Points
Tires?
We recommend 2 of them! The entire course is passable with any width tire. As of December 1 most of the course had a lot of loose gravel and a few softer areas from freeze/thaw. Join the Facebook Events page for updates.
Weather?
It will be breezy! Historical Highs around 70 and lows around 50. It is mid May in the midwest. A very small chance of snow, a mild chance of rain, a medium chance of blue skies, and a high chance of wind.
Outside Aid?
Outside is allowed, but ONLY at the aid station location. Aid outside these locations is not permitted unless supplied by event staff.
Inclusivity?
We have an “Open Class.” Use the contact link & let us know that you want to participate in the open classification.
Accommodations?
Camping - There will be camping allowed at the Waterman Bible Church on Friday night. For longer term camping the Shabbona State Park is 5 miles West of the event site.
Hotels - Waterman sits 10 miles straight South of DeKalb and 20 miles straight West of Aurora. Both of these locations have a plethora of options.
